Q: Where can visitors park?
A: Please check our Visitor & Alumni Parking page to find out where to park on campus.
Q: How long is a visitor pass good for?
A: A visitor pass is only good for up to three school days, weekends not included.
Q: Can my visitor park near my building?
A: When issuing the pass, we can make the location for visitor, residential or commuter
lots.
Q: How many Parking Decals/Permits can I obtain?
A: Residents are only allowed one hangtag per year due to limited residential parking.
Commuters are allowed one hangtag per Academic year. An Academic Year is Fall, Spring
and Summer semesters. Students are allowed only one car on campus at a time. After
allotted hangtag is issued, a $100 fee is charged per additional hangtag and previous
hangtags for residential students must be terminated.
Q. What happens If I get into an accident and need another decal?
A. Hangtags are transferable. If for any reason you are using another vehicle please
transfer your hangtag to that vehicle and make sure you register your new vehicle
with University Transportation. This includes rental cars as well.
Q: How long is my hangtag good for?
A: The decal has an expiration date at the bottom of the hangtag. It will Mostly be July
31, of the next year (end of Summer Semester)
Q: What can a citation do to my banner account?
A: If you receive a ticket on campus, there will be a hold on your account until the
amount owed is paid. A hold can stop you from registering for class and keep you from
seeing grades and transcripts.
Q: I am a visitor. Do the citations on SPSU campus matter?
A: Yes, once you receive three citations in one semester, you will be subject to a green
sticker. After you have received a green sticker, transportation has the authority
to boot or tow your car at the owner’s expense. This includes visitors.
Q: Will the tickets still be on my account if I do not register my car?
A: Yes, even if you do not register your car, we are able to use other sources to find
out who the car belongs to and will be able to link the car to your account.
Q: Where can I pay for my parking tickets?
A: Tickets are to be paid in the Business Office located in Norton Hall. SPSU students may also pay online through their Banner Web
accounts. Unfortunately the Transportation Office does not currently handle monetary
transactions.
Q: Will tickets on campus put points on my license?
A: SPSU parking tickets will not go against you for the state of Georgia.
