Staff Council Minutes

Minutes Approved

George Scott called the meeting to order at 9:50 AM. The agenda for today’s meeting was adopted. The minutes of the September 18, 2001 meeting were read and approved.

I. Old Business

Constituents List

The list that was provided to the Staff Council was full of errors. George Scott will work with HR to get an accurate list to be distributed to Staff Council members.

USG Staff Council Annual Conference

This conference is for all university staff. A concern was raised by a staff member that the conference was not publicized to all staff. In the future SPSU Staff Council will make every effort to ensure that the staff is aware of the conference. At the annual conference the issue of employee benefits was discussed. There is a proposed “national plan” to be offered. However, “stop-gap” is still an issue with the PPO.

II. New Business

Staff Council Attendance

George Scott will be contacting all SPSU Staff Council members who have missed two meetings. In addition, reminders of upcoming staff council meetings will be sent via email by George Scott two days prior to said meetings.

Staff Fun Day

Dawn Ramsey reported that this was turned over to Jim Cooper and will check on the status.

III. Next Meeting

The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 27, 2001 at 9:30 a.m. All staff members are welcome and encouraged to attend the meetings. If there are items you would like placed on the agenda, forward these to George Scott at least one week before the next meeting. The meeting adjourned.
