Staff Council Minutes

Minutes Approved

Dottie Maiuro called the meeting to order at 2:10 PM. The minutes of the January 22, 2001 meeting were reviewed and approved. Shon Russell was present and reinstated.

I. Old Business

SPSU Staff Fun Day

Paulette Crider reported that the fun day will be scheduled for one day during the week of May 13 - 17. The members of this committee are Kimberly Bell and Deborah Wingate please contact them if you would like to assist in the 2002 Staff Fun Day.

Outstanding Staff Awards

Jocelyn Clark reported the results of the OSA surveys. There was a 46% response rate with the highest interest being to implement and OSA with a monetary value. Donna McPherson agreed to forward the information to Dr. Rossbacher and report back to Staff Council.

Contacting Constituents

This is a reminder that all Staff Council members were assigned constituents in November. Please remember to keep your constituents apprised of issues and meetings.

2001 Staff Council Conference Results

Information on the 2001 Staff Council Conference held last October may be viewed at http://www.kennesaw.edu/staff/2001conf.html

Updating Staff Council Website

Alberta Cook agreed to continue to keep the Staff Council Website updated. We will forward minutes and other relevant information to her after each meeting.

II. New Business

Getting Staff Council Back on Track

This includes getting the agenda out 10 days prior to the next meeting, minutes out timely and contacting constituents.

2002 Faculty/Staff Service Awards

Cynthia Clayton has agreed to assist with this years award ceremony. She and Denise Stover will meet with a vendor regarding pins/awards. Staff Council will keep you informed as further developments occur.

2002 Staff Council Elections

The 2002 Staff Council Election Committee was established, the members include: Jocelyn Clark, Chair, Deborah Wingate, Dottie Mauiro, Kimberly Bell and Carolyn Tanner. Nomination forms will be sent via campus mail on April 8. Election Ballots will be sent out on May 3. If you have questions you may contact any member of the Election Committee.

Getting Staff Macon USGSC Quarterly Meeting

The next meeting will be February 22, 2002 in Macon. Alberta Cook has offered to have people ride with her. Staff Council should have two representatives at each USGSC meeting.

Staff Council Minutes Distribution

There have been concerns regarding the distribution of SC minutes through the SPSU_Official email address as it includes faculty. There is not an alias for staff only and at this time the minutes will remain to be distributed through SPSU_Official.

Staff Morale Survey

Alberta Cook was going to ask other USGSC members to complete a survey at the Macon meeting and summarize that information.

III. Next Meeting

The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 26, at 2:00 PM in the Atrium Building room J381. All staff members are welcome and encouraged to attend the meetings. If there are items you would like placed on the agenda, forward these to George Scott at least one week before the next meeting. The meeting adjourned.
