Freshman Forward, Emeka Maduka, Gets Named NAIA All-American

The 2009 NAIA Men's Soccer All-American list has come out and SPSU's Freshman forward from Ogun, Nigeria, Emeka Maduka, has been selected as an Honorable Mention for his efforts in his first year in a Hornets uniform.  The 6', 170 lbs striker led the Southern States Athletic Conference in the following categories:

Goals Per Game ( 0.82)

Total Goals ( 14)

Pts. Per Game (1.17)

Game Winning Goals (5)

He was named to the 2009 SSAC All-Conference First Team and was the SSAC Newcomer of the Year.

"We are so pleased to have Emeka here.  He is a threat each time he touches the ball.  Unfortunately, he played with a stress fracture in his left heal all year long.  We are looking forward to seeing how he will perform with two healthy feet," said Head Coach Kom Momeni.  "His future looks very bright here!"

Maduka finished the 2009 season with 14 Goals, 1 Asst. in 17 matches, with a total of 29 pts.
