2011 NAIA Preseason Coaches' Poll

For the second year in a row, the Southern Poly Men's Soccer team starts the season ranked in the top 10 in the Preseason Coaches' Poll. Last year the Hornets started out as the #9 team. This year they begin the season as the #7th ranked team.

With a very challenging schedule that includes five teams that are mentioned in the preseason poll, SPSU will have a hard time staying in the Top 10 rankings. "We have our work cut out for us and are excited about the challenges ahead. Being honored again, by such a high ranking is great, but it doesn't mean anything. We have to win some tough games," said Hornets Head Coach, Kom Momeni. "Once again, we will have the target on our backs, and our players will have to manage the stress that comes with that." Southern Poly finished the 2010 campaign with another trip to the Round of 16 in the NAIA National Tournament. They have made it there for two straight years, and will be looking to match the success of those years. Regular Season play starts at home, at Nuesoft Technologies Field, on August 22nd.
