Southern Poly Opens with Convincing 10-0 Win

The #7 Nationally ranked Southern Poly Men’s Soccer team opened their 2011 campaign with a very convincing 10-0 victory over the Talladega College Tornadoes today. Goals were scored by Senior Jumol Harewood (2), Junior Emeka Maduka (3), Junior Marcos Mendez (1), Sophomore Juan Henao (1), Freshman Avery Shepard (1), Freshman Tyler Woodruff (1) and Freshman Kyle Billington (1). Southern Poly outshot the Tornadoes 46 to 3 and placed 25 of those shots on goal. “It was a good performance overall for the first game. We have a few minor details we need to sort out by Saturday but all in all, it was a complete performance” said Head Coach Kom Momeni.
Southern Poly faces Union University Saturday August 27th at home in their next match. Kickoff is scheduled for 6pm.
