After a scoreless 110 minutes of soccer, #12 Southern Poly and #7 William Carey play to a 0-0 draw. The draw, Southern Poly's first of the year, was in fact their first overtime match of the season and William Carey's third.

The first half saw most of the play in William Carey's end as Southern Poly came out aggressively pressing their back line and pushing for the opening goal. Southern Poly would amass three corners and four shots on goal with seven shots in the 45 minutes while William Carey would total up one corner, two shots and one shot on goal.

The second half saw much of the same even though the game would see both teams with chances to score. Junior Emeka Maduka would lead both teams in shots with seven and with time running out in the second half, Maduka chopped two defenders and swung a ball lefty to the far post. It would hit off the post and be the closest both teams would come that half.

The overtime periods were mundane for most of the 20 minutes played except when Maduka was sprung through by Senior Jumol Harewood. Maduka ran on to the loose ball behind the Carey back line and as he pushed it by the keeper, he was tripped up just outside the box. The keeper for William Carey was shown a straight red card and forced William Carey to play a man down.

With ten men, William Carey would hold on for the last 12 minutes of over time.

The final stats would see Southern Poly with seven corners, 14 shots and seven shots on goal. William Carey would end up with two corners, seven shots and three shots on goal.

The draw sees Southern Poly end the regular season with a 13-2-1 record and 9-2-1 in the SSAC, finishing second over all. Southern Poly host the #7 seed in the SSAC Tournament (Lee University) on Saturday November 5, 2011 at 2pm at Nuesoft Technologies Field on the campus of Southern Poly.
