Southern Poly Ranked #3 in NAIA Pre-Season Poll

For the third year in a row, the Southern Polytechnic State University Men's Soccer team starts the season ranked in the top 10 of the Men's Soccer Coaches' Preseason Top 25 Poll. In 2010, the Hornets started the season ranked 9th nationally and earned a #7 pre-season ranking in 2011. This year and for the first time in program history, they broke the top 5 with a ranking of #3.

Southern Poly will have their work cut out for them in order to keep such a prestigious ranking throughout the year, as there are four other conference foes ranked in the top 25 of the Preseason Coaches’ Poll. “Achieving such a high honor for the third straight year is great, but it’s meaningless unless we perform and get the results that garner such attention," said Hornets Head Coach, Kom Momeni. Southern Poly finished the year with a third straight trip to the national tournament, falling in the overtime of the Elite 8 to the eventual National Champions, Lindsey Wilson College.
