MS in Information Technology

The MS in Information Technology prepares students for senior management positions in IT (e.g. CIO, Director of network services). It combines technical courses with courses focused on the management of Information Technology. Courses are taught by our highly-trained professors and are offered on a highly-flexible schedule for the convenience and ease of working students. Most courses are offered both on campus and online and it is possible to complete the MSIT degree online.

A few years after graduation, students graduating from the program will be able to:

  1. Utilize core IT competences at a senior level
  2. Practice and be recognized in focused IT specializations
  3. Act as leaders and contribute to the IT and business vitality of their organizations

As a student completes the program, he or she will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate broad knowledge of all technical areas of information technology and an in-depth knowledge of at least one area in the following:
    • Data management
    • Information assurance and security
    • Network and communication
    • Servers and platforms
    • Software and web development
  2. Synthesize and evaluate models for IT management
  3. Manage the various aspects of an IT organization, using accepted standards and best practices where appropriate, including:
    • IT strategic planning;
    • IT operations and systems planning and implementation;
    • Functional requirements and their management; and
    • Business value attainment through information and communication technologies.
