Alcohol: My Promise to Live
As an SPSU student you have a commitment to your education and your life. Please take the pledge. Have your friends take the pledge.....it's....MY PROMISE TO LIVE!
Take care of your friends and yourself by following these simple guidelines.
¨ I promise not to drink and drive, or let any of my friends get
behind the wheel impaired.
¨ I promise not to ride in a car when the driver has been drinking.
¨ I promise that one person in the car will remain awake with the driver at all times.
¨ I promise to watch out for my friends, and not leave them alone in possibly uncertain situations.
¨ I promise to take care of myself and my friends and have a GREAT SPRING BREAK!
Be a responsible adult and friend this spring break.
Drink responsibly and if you drink,

The Sobering Facts:
¨ People who begin drinking before the age of 15 are four times more likely to develop alcoholism than those who begin at 21.
¨ Women metabolize alcohol less efficiently than men, a difference that leads to higher blood alcohol contents over a shorter period of time.
¨ Men are twice (21%) as likely as women (10%) to be heavier drinkers.
¨ The prevalence of alcoholism is more than twice as high (19%) among those who have suffered from depression at some time during their lives than those who have not (9%).
¨ Alcohol-related car crashes are the leading cause of death for 15 to 24 year olds.
