September 7- Milligan College, TN
SPSU Men's Soccer Team gets beaten on the road by the Milligan College Buffalos 0-2. Playing a scoreless half, the Buffalos got on the scoreboard in the 65th minute from a goal by Philip Wilson. Hornets starting GK, Eric Ati, got injured on the play as both players collided just after Wilson got the shot off. Ryan Black replaced Ati and got scored on 14 minutes later when Rasmus Willhemson extended the Buffalo's lead by two goals. Later, Black would make a huge 1 v 1 save to keep the match at 2-0.
The Hornets had some great chances throughout the match, hitting the post twice and missing four 1 versus 1 chances with the Milligan GK. "We need better performance by our attacking players. We had numerous chances and just could not finish. This would have been a great victory on the road for our young program, but we just did not capitalize on the chances that we worked so hard to create", said Coach Momeni.
The Hornets play SSAC foes, Berry College, on Wednesday September 12 at 4:30 pm, in Rome, GA.
