The Hornets got their fifth victory of the year as they traveled to play the Panthers from La Grange College.  Coming off of a 2-1 victory over Shorter College, the Hornets started off early by hitting the post three times in the first 20 minutes and getting off 14 total shots in the first half.   

The lone goal for the Hornets, in the first half, came from Futty Danso from an assist from Junior Captain, Dustin Harrison.  In the 32nd minute, Harrison found himself free on the right side and served a hard driven, low ball to the near post.  Danso managed to get a toe on the service and beat the Gk for a 1-0 halftime lead.

SPSU got on the scoreboard again, at the 46th minute, when fellow Junior Captain, Alex Valdez flighted Harrison a perfect pass into space, in front of the Panther GK and in behind their back line.  Harrison took a first time shot that extended the Hornet lead 2-0.

The third and finally goal came when James Grant  (4 goals, 7 assists) received the ball on the left hand side, beat two players, and slipped Danso (11 goals, 2 assists) a ball the he hit as he collided with the La Grange GK. 

Eric Ati and Ryan Black helped get the Hornet shut-out.

The Hornets, 5-6-1, host SSAC Conference rival, Reinhardt College on Monday at 3 pm.
