Mamadou "Futty" Danso gets named the
SSAC Offensive Player of the Week with a 4 goal, 1 assist
performance against Faulkner University. Coming off of the
bench at the 20th minute, Danso had an immediate impact on the
match with a shot off of the right post. He ended the match
playing 40 minutes as a forward, and 20 minutes as a center back.
He also set two SPSU records with 9 points and 4 goals in a single
match. "Futty has set some high standards for the program.
He was our first All-Conference player and Conference Newcomer of
the Year in 2007, and now he is the top player in the conference
for the first week of 2008. He also leads the nation and
conference in scoring", said Coach Momeni.
