SPSU Head Coach Kom Momeni
Kom
Momeni finished his second campaign at SPSU with a 12-5-1 record.
His Hornet's team finished tied for second in the Southern States
Athletic Conference and hosted the first round of the Conference
Tournament. During the season, the Hornets were ranked as high as
#18 in the nation and received votes for the National Top 25 for 4
weeks. Along the way they played five teams in the Pre-season
National Top 25 Poll, beating two and drawing with one. They lost
to eventual National Champions, Bethel College, 0-1. They had an
impressive 7-2 conference record and had two players make the
All-Conference team. The Hornets had the Conference's leading
goal scorer in Futty Danso (19 goals) and the leading playmaker in
James Grant, with 11 assists on the year. Danso was also named an
NAIA All-American, the SSAC Player of the Year and Offensive
Player of the Year.
SPSU
Asst. Coach Paul Sammeroff
Coach Paul Sammeroff finished his second season as assistant coach
of the Hornets. After a successful college career, Sammeroff
helped the Hornets to a 20-13-3 overall record in the first two
seasons. Whilst playing his freshman season at Winthrop University
(2003-04), he then joined the University of Alabama Huntsville
(2004-07), and in his senior year, led the team to its first
conference tournament appearance in five years.
Camp Staff
The Camp Staff is made up of current and former college players.
There are many current SPSU players who work as counselors during
the camp. Everyone shares the same enthusiasm about the sport of
soccer and makes sure that each camper has a great experience. A
certified athletic trainer will be working the camp as well
