Continuing its recent record of
setting new heights in the Southern Poly’s men’s program, they have
reached a new “first time ever” by breaking into the Top 10 in the
country. When the rankings for the NAIA Division 1 top 25 men’s
soccer teams came out Tuesday evening, it had the Southern Poly
Men’s Soccer program at #10. Last week Southern Poly set a new
personal best being ranked #14. This week they climbed four spots
to break into that sought after top 10 list.
Their current record is 4-0-1 with
their only non-victory coming to a very strong SCAD team last week
who is currently receiving votes for the Top 25. “We continue to
work hard day in and day out at practice. Being ranked in the Top
10 puts a target on your back. Our guys understand it, and know
they need to get better every day to stay here and hopefully move
further up” said a delighted Head Coach, Kom Momeni.
Southern Poly continues its tough
schedule this evening with SSAC conference foe Shorter College, who
are receiving votes for the Top 25.
