Alcohol Abuse: The LEGAL age for alcohol possession or consumption is 21 years old. No exceptions. Alcohol is the number one killer of college age students. Alcohol is a depressant, slows the metabolism and alters actions and decisions.

44% of U.S. College students engage in binge drinking.
At one third of U.S. colleges, more than half of the students were binge drinkers during the past two weeks.
College students who were binge drinkers in high school were three times more likely to binge drink in college.
Students in active athletics were almost 1-½ times more likely to be binge drinkers.
Binge drinkers were 16 times more likely to miss class, have unprotected sex, damage property, and get injured than non-binge drinkers were.
In colleges, 88% of all students, including those under the legal age, have used alcohol.
Between 75% and 90% of all violence on campuses is alcohol related
Each student is completely liable for all his/her actions at all times regardless of his/her mental or physical state, even if altered by alcoholic beverages or other drugs.
Each student organization is primarily responsible for the behavior of its members whenever alcohol is being served at one of their functions.
It is unlawful to serve alcohol to obviously intoxicated persons.
