Basketball - Women Berry College Hands Hornets Their First Home Loss Marietta, Georgia - Southern Polytechnic State University Women’s basketball team suffered their first home loss of the 2008-09 season at the hands of the Berry College Vikings by the score of 62-67. The Lady Hornets struggled from behind the arc only shooting 1-11 for the game. Berry held Southern Poly two leading scorers Ray Donee Jones and Dione Parks to four and five points. The Hornets where led in scoring by sophomore Crystal Davis with 20 points. No other Lady Hornet player was in double figures. The loss drops Southern Poly to 6-5 overall and 0-3 in conference play. The Lady Hornets will be back in action on Saturday versus conference foe Shorter College. The game will be at 2:00pm in the Hornet Nest.
