Basketball - Women Lee University squeaks past SPSU Lady Hornets by 1 Lee University squeaks past the Lady Hornets by the score of 64-63. It was the story of two halves. The first half was all Lee leading at half time 37-24. The second half the Lady Hornets found themselves down by 20 points and fought back to take the lead in the last minute of the game. With seconds to go Lee University hit a well contested jump shot putting them up by one. The Hornets were lead by Tiffany Scales with 27 points and Dione Parks with 19 points. This lost drops the Hornets to 15-11 overall, and 7-9 in conference play. It is Homecoming for Southern Polytechnic State University and Senior Night were the Hornets will face Reinhardt College in their last home game of the regular season this Saturday at 2pm. It is also Breast Cancer Awareness Week and the Lady Hornets will have their annual Pink Zone Game. We are asking that everyone wear pink and show your support for Breast Cancer Awareness. The Lady Hornets are selling Pink Zone T-Shirts for $10.00; all proceeds will be donated to the WBCA Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
