Women's Basketball Team Kick Off Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign
(Team with Susanne John-Burns, middle, black shirt) Marietta, GA.- The Southern Polytechnic Women’s Basketball team participated in a Breast Cancer Awareness lecture Thursday, August 27th. Susanne Johnson-Burns, of the Northwest Georgia Oncology Centers in Marietta, GA, came out to educate the team on breast cancer’s causes, risks, treatments, and early detection. Southern Polytechnic Women’s Basketball team will be working alongside NGOC throughout the season. The Northwest Georgia Oncology Centers, P. C. is dedicated to the delivery of high quality, cost-effective oncology and hematology services to patients in Northwest Georgia. The practice provides state-of-the-art care through its consultation services, comprehensive office infusion services, patient education, and coordination of ancillary care. The Southern Polytechnic Women’s Basketball team will be hosting its annual “Pink Zone” game on February 11th, 2010 versus Shorter College at 6 pm. A “Pink Zone” game is dedicated to raising the public’s awareness of Breast Cancer and raising money for a designated charity.
