Jeffrey Jones
Head Basketball Coach

Prior to arriving to SPSU, Jones spent six seasons with Kennesaw
State University as an assistant coach. He help led Kennesaw State to the
2004 NCAA Division II National Championship.
Before going to Kennesaw State Coach Jones was an assistant for two
seasons at St. John’s River Community College in Palatka, Florida where
he also served as the director of student activities.
Before going to SJRCC, Jones was an assistant at David H. Hickman High
School in his hometown of Columbia, Missouri. For three seasons, he
served in the same capacity at Moberly (MO) High School from 1993-95.
Jones began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Missouri Valley
College, an NAIA school in Marshall, Missouri during the 1990-91 season.
An active member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches,
Black Coaches Association and Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity, Jones also
works at several camps and clinics around the country throughout the
year.
After playing two seasons at Pittsburg (Kan.) State University, Jones
received his bachelor’s degree in communications/sports administration
at Lindenwood College in St. Louis, Missouri.
Jones and his wife, Teala, have four children – Tearra (19), Kristopher
(17), Ashley (16), and Jordan (14). The Jones’ family makes their home
in Marietta, Georgia.
