Daniel Griffin (First Season)
Assistant Coach

Last year’s leading hitter and starting shortstop Daniel Griffin
will be returning in a hornet’s uniform for the 2009 season only
this time as a graduate assistant coach. Griffin played three
seasons for SPSU and was a two time all-conference selection. Along
with his many accolades Griffin broke the SPSU single season record
for batting average with a .452 mark. Over his three year career
Griffin played in 176 games, hit for a .373 average, had 223 hits,
scored 178 runs, collected 41 doubles, 13 triples, 7 homeruns, and
drove in 111 runs.
Along with getting his Masters degree, Griffin will tutor the SPSU
hitters and infielders along with his older brother head coach Matt Griffin. He
received a Bachelors degree from SPSU in the spring of 2008.
Daniel Griffin played for Stephens County High School out of Toccoa,
GA. He was selected All-State his senior year, and signed with
Southern Union before transferring to SPSU. He is the son of Phil
and Sandy Griffin.
