The
University Archives is the repository for materials produced by
or about Southern Polytechnic State University, as well as publications
by faculty, staff, and students of SPSU. Included in the Archives
are official records of the University, student theses, books
and articles authored by faculty, published material about the
University, and recordings of campus events. Special Collections
includes valuable, fragile, or difficult to replace materials,
such as rare books, surveying maps, architectural drawings, and
old architectural periodicals. Items in the Archives and Special
Collections do not circulate; they must be used in the library.
Due to the fragile nature of many of the materials, a librarian
must approve photocopying.
The
Archives and Special Collections are open Monday-Wednesday, and
Friday, 9 AM to 3:30 PM; and Thursday, 1 PM to 5 PM. Most material
in the Archives and Special Collections is included in GIL. Special
arrangements may be made to use the materials in the evenings
or on weekends by contacting the Archives Librarian at (678) 915-7444
during daytime service hours.
