Usage Policy

 

Archives and Special Collections materials are often fragile in page or binding. They are also difficult to replace. Consequently the library staff asks you to take special care in using these materials. Because of their nature the following restrictions are placed on use.

The Archives and Special Collections are normally available from 8 am - 3:30 pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday; 1 pm – 5 pm Thursday. Night and weekend hours are available by appointment only.

  • The patron must leave their belongings in the Archives Reading Room during use.
  • Archives and Special Collections materials do not circulate. All matierals must be used within the reading room.
  • The patron must fill out a form that provide identifying information including
    Name, address, and phone number. Other information on the nature of their research
  • is requested, but not required.
  • Photocopies may be made only by staff depending on the condition of the materials.
  • The charge of photocopying is $ .10 per page.
  • The patron’s hands must be clean and dry. The patron may be asked to wear gloves provided.
  • The patron should work with the materials at a designated table in the Archives
  • Department.
  • No more than five items may be used at once. The patron may return some items in exchange for others.
  • A pencil and blank paper are the only items a patron may use with these materials.
