Can I get mail forwarded to me by the University Post Office after I leave SPSU Housing?

Unfortunately, mail is unable to be forwarded by the University Post Office. Mailboxes on the campus at SPSU are owned by SPSU and are not the property of the United States Postal Service. Because the mailboxes are “privately” owned, the MSC number is not recognized by the United States Postal Service. Mail that is addressed to the MSC number cannot be differentiated by the United States Post Office from general university mail. Students and housing residents leaving SPSU and/or university housing must supply a forwarding address to all relevant individuals and businesses.

What time can I pick up my mail at the University Post Office?

Mail is usually placed in the mailboxes around 3:00 PM.

If I decide to move off campus, can I keep my University Post Office mail box?

The mail boxes are only provided for residents that live on campus.

How do I receive a package that is shipped to the University Post Office?

The UPO accepts packages from all the major carriers. Once a package comes in, an email will be sent. After the email is sent, you have 30 days to pick up the package. Another email will be sent out shortly before the 30 day deadline to remind you that a package is waiting for you. If the package is not picked up by the 30 day deadline, the package will be returned to sender.

What do I need to pick up a package at the University Post Office?

Your student ID is required to pick up a package at the UPO.

Where is the University Post Office located?

The UPO is located in the Joe Mack Wilson Student Center on the first floor.

What services are offered by the University Post Office?

The UPO offers most of the services that a regular post office offers. This includes, but is not limited to, the selling of stamps, first class mail, priority mail and express mail. The UPO also offers domestic money orders. The UPO does not offer UPS or Fed Ex services. Although, if you have a package that is prepaid from Fed Ex or UPS we do have a daily pick up from those services.

How can I pay for the services offered at the University Post Office?

The UPO only accepts cash and checks. Money orders can only be paid for by cash.

How should a package or piece of mail be addressed to me?

Your name (The same name that is on your Hornet Card)

MSC # (P.O. Box number)

Student #

1100 South Marietta Parkway

Marietta, GA 30060

What will happen to my mail if I do get mail and I do not have a P.O. Box?

Time permitting; the University Post Office will make every effort to notify you by email if an important letter does arrive for you. There may be a slight delay to notify you that you have mail, especially at the beginning of a semester. The mail will be held for a 30 day period. After the 30 days, mail will be sent back to the sender and you will be placed on a no more email list.

If I do not have a P.O. Box can I receive a package at the University Post Office?

Yes, since packages are sorted differently than regular enveloped mail, the UPO can accept the package for you as long as you have an SPSU email address. The package will be held for a 30 day period. After the 30 days, the package will be sent back to the sender.
