PhysicsAES (Physics At Early Stage) Program
The Physics Department has recently launched a program called PhysicsAES (Physics At Early Stage) with the funding from a MATH + SCIENCE = SUCCESS mini grant to initiate an interest in Physics. The PhysicsAES plans to initiate an interest in physics among elementary and middle school students by introducing the required GPS (Georgia Performance Standards) concepts through demonstrations and engaging activities. We also plan to develop a community network between SPSU and the local schools to sustain student engagement and to provide teachers with resources to continue student interest. The team also hopes that by getting SPSU physics majors to participate in the program, it will generate an interest among them to become physics teachers.
