Reassigned Time for Administrative Responsibilities

Background Certain service activities within Academic Affairs justify giving faculty members reassigned time from some teaching duties.  In particular, program heads will have some reassigned time because of the high level of service they provide to students and faculty in their respective programs.

Guidelines 
  1. The vice president for academic affairs (VPAA), in consultation with the appropriate dean, determines the amount of reassigned time for academic program heads.
  2. The VPAA, in consultation with the school deans, determines the amount of reassigned time for any faculty (other than program heads) who perform program duties, such as coordination of graduate programs.
  3. The VPAA determines the amount of reassigned time for any faculty member performing special university-wide functions.
