Workshops and Faculty Development Initiatives
The current schedule of workshops for faculty can be found on Workshop Schedule. This schedule includes programs sponsored by the Center for Teaching Excellence, the Instructional Design Unit, as well as other programs related to faculty growth and development.
Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE)
The Center for Teaching Excellence provides many opportunities for growth and development, including workshops, brown bag sessions, resources, and other opportunities for faculty to dialogue on the teaching excellence.
Teaching Academy for Distance Learning (TADL)
TADL is a training program for SPSU faculty that is designed to provide:
- training in online course development concepts,
- training on GeorgiaVIEW Vista 8 common tools as well as other instructional tools,
- guidance and advice regarding online course development processes, and
- staff assistance in lab sessions as you develop/revise a course.

Software guides and training
The Instructional Design Unit has prepared online tutorials and guides for technology used in online instruction, including Wimba Classroom, Echo360, Digital Media, and other software.

SPSU IT Helpdesk
University Information Technology Services provides an IT Helpdesk from 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday. The IT Helpdesk can be reached at 678-915-4357. The helpdesk ticketing system is available online at: http://bristol.spsu.edu.
The GeorgiaVIEW Vista Support site offers an online knowledge base, live chat, as well as contact information for phone support. The support services are offered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is available online at: http://help8.view.usg.edu
