JAN. 16, 2014 – U.S. News & World Report has ranked SPSU No. 8 in the nation for the Best Online Graduate Computer Information Technology (CIT) Programs.

The magazine’s 2014 edition of “Best Online Programs,” released earlier this month, has SPSU tied with Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla.

SPSU’s ranking in this category has improved from No. 11 in 2013 and No. 17 in 2012. SPSU’s School of Computing and Software Engineering (CSE) has offered a fully online Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) since 2010.

“We did not set out to achieve a high position in the U.S. News & World Report rankings; we set out to create an online master's program in IT of the best possible quality,” said CSE Dean Han Reichgelt. “The fact that the program is highly ranked is a pleasant side-effect of this and is a reflection of the effort that our IT faculty and staff have made, and continue to make, to ensure that our students receive the best possible education.”
