Marietta, Ga. (Aug. 31, 2011) – SPSU’s Construction Management Department will hold its annual Construction Industry Advisory Board Banquet at the Cobb Galleria on Sept. 29. This year’s fundraiser marks the 10th anniversary of SPSU’s Construction Industry Advisory Board (CIAB), which is made up of industry leaders, many of whom employ SPSU graduates.
The dinner-dance will raise money for scholarships and the advancement of Georgia’s largest accredited construction program. To date, the annual CIAB banquet has raised well over $350,000.
“As a beneficiary of the Industry Advisory Board Scholarship, I have been able to focus more on my curricular and extracurricular objectives than on financing my education,” said Trent Anderson, a senior in the Construction Management bachelor’s program.
The event also serves as a networking and recruiting opportunity for SPSU undergraduates and graduate students, general contractors, subcontractors and construction vendors who attend.
“The growth and stability of the advisory board is a true testament to the SPSU faculty members and industry representatives who over the years have been sincerely dedicated to the development of well-educated graduates,” said Don Davidson, vice president of the SPSU Foundation Board of Trustees and a former CIAB chair. “These graduates will grow to be the leaders in our industry.”
The evening will include cocktails and a silent auction. For tickets, contact Event Committee Chairman Kenneth Barnett at 770-294-4375 or email@example.com.
