AUGUST 15, 2014 – The School of Engineering (SOE) received some great news today. ABET (www.abet.org) – the recognized accreditor for college and university programs in applied science, computing, engineering and technology – gave its seal of approval to a number of engineering programs that had been submitted for review by the organization’s Engineering Accreditation Commission.

“I am thrilled to report that we have received official notification that ALL of the five engineering programs submitted for review are now ABET accredited,” said SOE Dean Thomas R. Currin. “In addition, we were awarded the maximum term of accreditation – six years. Thank you to all who had a part in this wonderful achievement.”

The programs include: civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics engineering, mechanical engineering and systems engineering. Two other SPSU engineering programs – construction engineering and software engineering – had previously been accredited by the organization.
