Southern Polytechnic names William Gruszka new Chief Information Officer

Southern Polytechnic State University has named William Gruszka as its new chief information officer.

The chief information officer is the university's chief technology officer and oversees the implementation of SPSU's policies and procedures regarding information technology. Gruszka will be responsible for developing and maintaining the vision, strategy and plan for the university's information infrastructure. He will also serve as liaison with information technology officers at other institutions and with the University System of Georgia main office.

Gruszka previously served as the director of telecommunications and networking and as the interim chief technology officer at Oswego State University of New York. He earned a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering and a master's degree in industrial management from Cleveland State University. Since 1989, Gruszka has been a part-time instructor at both Cleveland State and at Oswego State's School of Business and Computer Science department.
