Southern Polytechnic adds new directors to Advancement office

Southern Polytechnic State University has named two new directors to its Advancement office.

Lynn Murray has joined Southern Polytechnic as Director of Development. She will be responsible for maintaining comprehensive annual giving campaigns for the university, as well as implementing fund drives and working closely with the university's Foundation. Previously, she served as the director of major gifts and director of individual gifts at Zoo Atlanta. Ms. Murray also served as director of planned giving at Georgia Southern University.

Margaret Gillespie has also joined Southern Polytechnic as Director of Alumni Affairs and Corporate Giving. In that role she will coordinate programs to strengthen relations between SPSU and its alumni and the corporate community. Before joining SPSU, Ms. Gillespie worked as a development assistant for the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and later as development coordinator and manager at the Robert W. Woodruff Arts Center. In that capacity, she was responsible for the coordination and overall operation of the annual corporate campaign.

"Both Ms. Murray and Ms. Gillespie bring a great deal of individual expertise to Southern Polytechnic," said Patricia Garrett, executive director of Advancement at SPSU. "They will make valuable contributions to our development team."
