Students and faculty from Southern Polytechnic State University will be celebrating National Engineer's Week 2001 February 17 - 24 with various events on campus. The week is themed "Turning Ideas Into Reality" and will include a luncheon and other special programs.
Started in 1951, National Engineer's Week is an annual event spotlighting the work done by engineers across the nation. "Engineer's Week is a wonderful reminder of the tremendous achievements of today's engineers. Southern Polytechnic is very proud to sponsor these activities. We are especially pleased that our students are able to develop a better appreciation and understanding of the industry though our faculty," said Richard Aynsley, dean of technology at Southern Polytechnic State University.

Engineer's Week Luncheon
The Engineer's Week Luncheon will be held at 11: 30 a.m. in the Southern Polytechnic Student Center Ballroom. The keynote address will be by Joseph Redden, superintendent of the Cobb County School District.
Employers from metro Atlanta, and Georgia, will be on campus from to talk to prospective employees. Also, on February 24, 2001, SPSU will be the host for the annual Science Olympiad from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
