Filmmaker and storyteller Eric Saperston, whose documentary film "The Journey" has played to packed audiences around the country, will speak at Southern Polytechnic State University's Roundtable Luncheon, for SPSU students, faculty and staff, on Friday, November 9, at noon in the SPSU Student Center Ballroom.
After graduation from San Diego State University in 1993, Saperston hopped in his 1971 VW bus with some of his "gen-x" friends and traveled coast to coast to interview some of the nation's most prominent personalities. His goal was to find out first-hand how these individuals molded their careers and made successful post-college transitions. Along the way, Saperston interviewed former president Jimmy Carter, Billy Crystal, Jerry Garcia and former Texas governor, among others. The result is the film "The Journey," which premiered at IMAGE's Annual Atlanta Film and Video Festival last summer and later screened locally at Phipps Plaza. "The Journey" recently debuted in New York, among other U.S. cities.
Saperston currently lives in Atlanta and has founded Journey Productions. He is in discussions with HBO about a movie on his cross-country experiences. For reservations, call (678) 915-7374.
