An empirical study of the evaluation of new networks and telecommunication technology is presented. The study aims at identifying and prioritizing the most critical factors in evaluating new networks and telecommunication technology according to information technology professionals. Capacity of networks and telecommunication technology, speed of network and telecommunications technology, price-performance of network and telecommunications technology, reliability of network and telecommunications technology, compatibility of network and telecommunications technology, operating conditions of network and telecommunications technology, ease of use of network and telecommunications technology, security of network and telecommunications technology, maintainability of network and telecommunications technology were investigated. A random sample of information technology professionals was surveyed, statistically analyzed, and reported.
