Course Objectives: A basic course in probability and statistics. Topics include expectation, independent and conditional probability, combinations and permutations, organization and analysis of data, standard probability distributions, and hypothesis testing. The emphasis is on the applications and methods with applicability in technical and managerial fields. Prerequisite: Math 1113.

You will need a calculator that has statistical capabilities for this course.
Grading: There will be 3 regular exams, each worth 100 points. A comprehensive final exam will be worth 200 points. There will be 10 or more quizzes worth 10 points each. Only the best 8 quizzes will count, for a total of 80 points from quizzes. Grades will be awarded based on percentage of total points as follows: 90% A, 80% B, 70% C, 60% D.
The last day to withdraw from the course with a W will be announced.
