There are a number of ways to obtain the materials you need when
you can't come to Johnson Library.
University System of Georgia Libraries
Students enrolled at SPSU may check out books from any other library
in the University System of Georgia. You will need a picture ID, such
as a driver's license or SPSU ID card. You must be currently enrolled
at SPSU and your information in the library's database must be current.
Fines are not charged for overdue materials borrowed from other lilbraries
in the University System. However, a single overdue book, from another
library, can result in a block being placed on your library record,
preventing you from checking out materials from any University System
library, even from Johnson Library, until the material is returned.
Keep track of materials you have checked out and fees owed through
your account in GIL.
Interlibrary Use Cards
Interlibrary Use Cards allow currently enrolled students to visit
other libraries to check out materials. Students enrolled in distance
courses may apply for cards to go to other college and university
libraries in the Atlanta/Athens area. Cards are issued for the current
semester only. To obtain an Interlibrary Use Card, ask your professor
or e-mail one of the lilbrary contacts.
Interlibrary Loan
- Interlibrary Loan provides access to books and photocopies of
articles obtained from any library in the country. If you are unable
to come to Johnson Library to pick up interlibrary loan materials,
special arrangements may be made to deliver materials to you. Ask
your professor or one of the librarians to make these arrangements.

Almost all libraries restrict interlibrary loan service to their
own clientele. If you need materials from libraries other than
University System of Georgia Libraries or the libraries for which
you have been issued an interlibrary use card, you have two options:
