General Collection items have a four (4) day grace
period. On the fifth (5th) day after the due date, all fines are
assessed retroactively. There is no grace period on reserve materials.
You will be blocked from borrowing, renewing or requesting library
materials when you accumulate fines in excess $10 or when you
have GIL Express overdue book. If you have unpaid fines and overdue
books from other universities at the end of the semester you may
be blocked from registering for the next semester.
Renewals
You may renew books in person in the library or
online via the GIL catalog. The library does not renew books
over the telephone. To renew online, log into your GIL account,
check the items you want to renew, and click the "Renew"
button.
Requesting Books
If a book you need has been checked out to
someone else, you may request it through the GIL online catalog.
Click the "Request" link at the top or bottom of the
screen on which the record for the book is displayed. When it
is returned, you will be notified that the book is available for
you to pick up at the Circulation Desk.
