Jump Start

This summer, SPSU will offer an accelerated “jump start” session for incoming freshmen. You will be able to complete three classes in five weeks with several of your fellow new classmates. SPSU will offer two Jump Start tracks, one for Computer Science and Gaming majors and one that covers general core classes.

General Core Track: Freshman Composition, American Government or Global Issues, and The Hitchhiker’s Guide to SPSU.

Gaming and Computer Science Track: Programming & Problem Solving I, Fundamentals of Game Design and The Hitchhiker’s Guide to SPSU.

You will be a couple of steps closer to graduation before fall semester even starts!

In addition to getting three important classes under your belt, you’ll also have the chance to meet classmates, have lunch with faculty, speak with administrators, and get acclimated to college. Also, many social events will be planned to offer a sample of life outside the classroom.

These classes are for full credit and will receive grades. The costs associated with this program, including meals and activities, are outlined below in the Just the Facts section.

Space is limited and you must be accepted to SPSU to register for the Jump Start program.
