Getting RegisteredGetting Registered
Registering for classes comes in several steps whether you're a new or returning student:
New Students:
- Complete online orientation.
- Look over “schedule of classes” found at https://banweb.spsu.edu/pls/PROD/schedule.main.
- Select courses you’d like to take based on flowchart or list of courses.
- Contact your advisor about what courses you’d like to take (remember your advisor
may be the program coordinator)**Remember to “mix” your general education and major
courses, if possible. Graduate students will just have major courses.
- Register yourself through Banner Web (refer to Online Resource Guide for refresher
on how to register yourself).
- If you have any problems registering – contact your advisor or the Academic Advisor
(Mrs. Beth Haynie – ehaynie@spsu.edu).
- After getting registered – pay your fees by the fee payment deadline.
- Look up books at the bookstore (see Online Resource Guide for information) and purchase
books.
- Plan on creating your 2-year plan by middle of semester and turn it in to your advisor.
Continuing Students:
- Look over “schedule of classes” to see what’s being offered next term
- Plan out a “preliminary schedule” based on your flowchart or list of courses
- Consult your 2-year plan to see if you have deviated from the plan at all – if you
have deviated from the plan see your advisor and update your plan.
- Be sure to check the 3 phases of pre-registration dates. Remember, after EACH phase
there is a fee payment deadline. If you don’t pay (or if you have financial aid your
schedule will be held) your schedule will be dropped and you will have to re-register
during the next phase.
- The earlier you can register, the better the chance of getting the courses/times that
you want.
- Register yourself during one of the phases of registration through Banner Web.
- If you have any problems registering – contact your advisor or the Academic Advisor
(Mrs. Beth Haynie – ehaynie@spsu.edu).
- After getting registered – pay your fees by the fee payment deadline.
- Look up books at the bookstore (see Online Resource Guide for information) and purchase
books.
