Planning, Assessment, &
Institutional Effectiveness
Introductory
Statement
All of the planning and assessment processes of the
academic and educational support units at Southern Polytechnic State
University help to support the mission of Southern Polytechnic as “a
comprehensive university with a unique purpose: through the
fusion of technology with the liberal arts and sciences, we create a
learning community that encourages thoughtful inquiry, diverse
perspectives, and strong preparation of our graduates to be leaders in
an increasingly technological world.”
Mission
By collaborating
with faculty and staff, planning and assessment personnel work to
coordinate the accreditation studies of accreditation agencies as well
as the evaluation of all academic degree programs, the core curriculum
of the institution, and academic and support services. As part of
the institutional effectiveness process, the division of planning and
assessment assists in linking strategic and operational planning and
assessment to the various aspects of resource allocation, including
fiscal appropriations.
