Performance Criterion

Identify major composers and performers and their contributions to Western music.

  1. Demonstrate an ability to make informed aesthetic judgments about the arts, such as visual, performing, and literary.

70% of students will average a 70 or better on in-class exams.

Aurally and visually identify instruments and various ensembles.

  1. Demonstrate an ability to make informed aesthetic judgments about the arts, such as visual, performing, and literary.

 

70% of students will score a 70 or higher on concert reports, written out of class.

Distinguish the style elements of each major musical period (Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, 20th Century).

  1. Demonstrate an ability to analyze and interpret oral and written arguments and materials
  2. Demonstrate an ability to make informed aesthetic judgments about the arts, such as visual, performing, and literary.

 

70% of students will score a 70 or higher on the final exam.
