Academic Degree Program Assessment
School of Engineering Technology and Management
Use of Results Report
ATT - BS Industrial Engineering Technology, Textile Engineering Technology: 2007 - 2008
- Please list the Program Outcomes which were met and briefly discuss these.
Seven program outcomes are being assessed using five courses with a total of thirteen performance criteria. Only two of the courses were taught in the spring 2008 semester but at least one criterion was linked to six of the outcomes. 100% of the expectations were met or exceeded for those six outcomes (#s 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 and 7).
- If any program outcomes were not met, please list these and discuss these in more detail.
One program outcome (#3 ability to plan, execute and critique ideas and concepts) was not met due to the fact that two courses were not offered spring 2008 semester which contained the course linkages for assessment.
- Chairs:
- Please discuss how you think that or anticipate that these results might be used.
The results will be discussed in the ATT Assessment Committee meeting at the end of the semester.
- Please note below when you are tentatively planning to discuss these results and the use of these results with your faculty and with others.
At the next ATT Assessment Committee Meeting scheduled for May, 2008. Each course will be reviewed by the course coordinator at this meeting.
- Dates of Meetings: Please list below the dates of meetings at which the use of assessment results was discussed and also briefly summarize the discussions and decisions.
The spring 2008 Assessment Committee Meeting was held May 15, 2008. At that meeting the two courses taught during the semester were reviewed by the course coordinators.
ATT3602 Carol Ellis
No changes are recommended. The course catalog description is quite lengthy will be shorten and updated for the 2008-09 catalog.
ATT4840 Tom Ball
The course was scheduled for two students, one who graduated at the conclusion of spring semester. Neither student had completed ATT3602 and ATT4750 so the design step was not included in the syllabus. The course is scheduled again for spring 09 which will include the design portion. No other changes are recommended at this time.
The committee accepted the coordinator’s recommendations.
The Assessment Report below was reviewed by the faculty. With this being the first time these assessment measures were used, the committee felt that no changes be made to criteria or courses until at least one more semester results can be reviewed.
