ECET -
BS Telecommunications Engineering Technology
1. Please list the Program Outcomes which were met and briefly discuss these.
2. Demonstrate an appropriate mastery of knowledge, techniques, skills and modern tools of the technical components of the curriculum
There were two performance criteria. The first was that 80% of the students in ECET 3400 would score 70% or more for a course grade and 95% met this criterion. The second was that 80% of the students in ECET 3410 would score 70% or more for a course grade and 86% met this criterion.
3. Use appropriate tools and laboratory equipment to acquire data, conduct experimental measurements, analyze data, and interpret the results.
Our performance criterion was that 80% of the students in ECET 4820 would score 70% or more for a course grade and 100% met this criterion.
4. Demonstrate the ability to think critically and generate creative and realistic solutions to defined problems and projects appropriate to computer engineering technology
Our performance criterion was that 80% of the students in ECET 4850 would score 70% or more for a course grade and 100% met this criterion.
5. Produce written documents, deliver oral presentations, prepare and interpret visual information
Our performance criterion was that 80% of the students in ECET 4850 would score 70% or more for a course grade and 100% met this criterion.
2. If any program outcomes were not met, please list these and discuss these in more detail.
1. Demonstrate an appropriate knowledge of the fundamentals of telecommunications engineering technology, mathematics and science
Our performance criterion was that 80% of the students in ECET 2110 would score 70% or more for a course grade and 78% met this criterion. Although this criterion was not met, falling only 2% below the measure, this is very close for a first cycle.
3. Chairs
- Please discuss how you think that or anticipate that these results might be used.
These results illustrate that we are close to meeting all chosen criterion. The performance criterion for outcome 1 was based on student performance in ECET 2110. This is an early sophomore course in which students are still learning the skills required by the field of electrical engineering technology. Overall 78% of the classes earned a grade of 70% or more this is 2% below the goal of 80%.
- Please note below when you are tentatively planning to discuss these results and the use of these results with your faculty and with others.
The Telecommunications Engineering Technology committee will be meeting during the fall semester to discuss these results and any need for changes in the measures.
4. Dates of Meetings: Please list below the dates of meetings at which the use of assessment results was discussed and also briefly summarize the discussions and decisions
