TCOM 4100: A Subcommittee of three faculty members evaluated two sets of group project reports during spring 2008, for a total of eight reports (100% of the class). Results: 87.5% (7 out of 8) group reports demonstrated satisfactory written communication skills.

 

TCOM 4800: A subcommittee of five faculty members reviewed six BS capstone portfolios from spring 2007 (60% random sample), for a total of 30 individual assessments. Results: The sampled portfolios demonstrated satisfactory written communication skills in 93% (28 out of 30) of the individual assessments.

ENGL 4160: Given the nature of the course (Rhetoric: History, Theory, and Practice), the curriculum subcommittee determined that overall course grade was the best indicator of achievement of this program outcome. Results: 87.5% of students who completed the course (14 out of 16) earned a C or better; 62.5% (10 out of 16) earned a B or better.
