TADL was setup to train instructors how to effectively use distance learning technologies. TADL follows the Seven Principles of Good Teaching, incorporates multimedia tools, and web 2.0 technologies.
We schedule workshops throughout each semester held in face-to-face classroom environments. There will be opportunities to interact with, not only the IDU team of instructional designers, but also your peers. We cover processes, best practices, and tools supporting online instruction. Question and answer sessions follow, enabling constant improvement and suggestions of future workshop topics.

One-on-one support reinforces your understanding of how to use available tools for online teaching platforms. Whether you are new to online instruction or a practiced instructor, our one-on-one support includes detailed explanations.
Don’t have time to come to a workshop? Our self-help tutorials function as refreshers.These services are great for those who have previously participated in IDU workshops and one-on-one training, and serve as immediate reminders to how specific tools are used. Self-help products provide step-by-step documentation for every online tool’s standard use.
To complete the mentorship program, an instructor must co-develop a course with an approved online course developer.
These individuals will work together to complete the course development and then jointly submit the course for external review. If the course meets the standards, the new instructor’s information will then be added to the approved list and he/she will be able to submit courses independently for future developments.View the current approved developer list
