Student Organization Web Sites
Below are the necessary steps for requesting the creation of a new website for a student organization at Southern Polytechnic State University. (Throughout this tutorial, we use the 'National Society of Black Engineers' and 'nsbe' for example only. Your organization will obviously have a different name and acronym. )
Once all of the above criteria have been met, send an email message to Dean of Students, Barry Birckhead ( bb@spsu.edu ). The Dean, or a designee, will forward your request, in the form of a workorder, to Information Technology. Your email to the Dean must contain the following information:

Proposed acronym for the organization
Example: nsbe ( must be 8 characters or less )
Note: This acronym will be used for the organization's email address, i.e., nsbe@spsu.edu, as well as the virtual host name for the website, i.e., nsbe.spsu.edu
Once the workorder has been completed by Information Technology, it will be closed thus notifying Barry Birckhead that website creation can begin. The student may then access the site in the following manner:
