Lab User Policies and Procedures
The Information Technology Division has developed Lab User Policies and Procedures to preserve resources, and ensure maximal benefit of services available.
- Computer usage requires a valid SPSU email account. When setting up a new account, please be prepared to show a current photo ID.
- To avoid hardware damage, food and drinks are not permitted in the lab.
- Keep noise levels to a minimum.
- Save your data often.
- Cell phones and pagers can be disruptive to others and should be kept on silent or vibrate mode while in the lab. All cell phone calls should be taken outside the lab.
- The lab phone is available for emergency and on-campus calls only.
- Limit printing to 50 pages.
- Unauthorized access to University resources is prohibited. In particular, users are not permitted to engage in activities that are detrimental to system, network, or other users. These include, but are not limited to:
- Damaging computers and other peripherals
- Gaining unauthorized access to systems
- Depriving another user of authorized resources
- Obtaining extra resources not authorized to you.
- ALL University Rules of conduct apply to the use of telecommunications, network, and system resources. Use of telecommunication, network, and system resources that involve academic dishonesty is a violation of University policy.
If you are unsure about lab policies, ask a Lab Assistant. Additional information is available by contacting: IT_Lab_Manager@spsu.edu.
