You may submit your answers early but late submissions will receive a grade of zero.

This is a RESEARCH Module Assignment.
Your answers MUST include reference material from sources in addition to the course textbook.
You may use other textbooks, journal articles, or information published on the internet.

You MUST include footnotes in your answers when you reference material from the textbook or from other sources.

You have three options for showing your references:
  1. You may use footnotes at the bottom of each page, or
  2. You may group all the footnotes together at the end of the paper as end notes, or
  3. You may place each footnote in parenthesis at the end of the corresponding paragraph.
Missing or improperly referenced footnotes will significantly reduce your grade on this module assignment.


Learning Objectives for Research Module Assignment Two

Assignment Two focuses on Site Inspections, Data Accuracy, and Supplier Rating Systems. When this assignment has been completed, the student should have:
  1. An understanding of the importance of site inspections and is major benefits.
  2. An appreciation for the issues involved in measuring and reporting repeatability and reproducibility errors.
  3. A comprehension of one of the many different types of Supplier Rating Systems.

Module Assignment Two Questions

  1. In Chapter Five, Bossert discusses the concept of a supplier site inspection. Clearly explain when such an inspection would be most appropriate, and what the major benefits would be to both the purchaser and the supplier.

  2. On Page 48 Bossert discusses the importance of repeatability and reproducibility. Discuss these two concepts in depth, and describe how they can be assessed with reference to a supplier.

  3. In Chapter Seven, Bossert provides an overview of supplier rating systems. Select any ONE supplier rating system and discuss it in detail with respect to a specific organization.
