New Microsoft Content Publishers Present to ETCMA Students
On September 20, Suzanne Sowinska and Barbara McGuire, both senior content publishers at Microsoft, discussed new Technical Communication careers at Microsoft.
Microsoft recently organized all writing, editing, print, media, and web publishing professionals into a new core engineering discipline defined as "Content Publishing." Content publishers are responsible for the design, development, deployment, vision, and business strategy for content creation, acquisition, production, editorial, and publishing activities at Microsoft.
ETCMA Department Welcomes New Faculty Members
This Fall, the ETCMA department welcomes three new full time faculty members.
Dr. Kami Anderson is an assistant professor of speech and communications. She recently completed her Ph.D. at Howard University, where her research area was intercultural communication.
Dr. Matthew McCool joins us from New Mexico State University, where he specialized in professional and technical writing and intercultural online writing. His Ph.D. is in Rhetoric and Professional Communication from New Mexico State University.
Melissa Weaver is our new lecturer in speech and communication courses. Her master of science in communication is from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where her thesis topic was social support, beliefs about substance abuse, and religiosity.
